With summer heatwaves baking much of the country, gardens are struggling. When temperatures remain above 85 degrees, many plants will inevitably suffer. However, with adequate care and an application of Organic REV, the effects of heat stress on plants, including vegetables, can be minimized.
Tips for combatting heat stress:
- Water Frequently. Daily watering is crucial during periods of high heat. Plants in containers may even require water twice daily.
- Provide shade (if possible) during the hottest times of the day.
- Add mulch. Mulching can help conserve moisture and keep plants cooler.
- Apply Organic REV. When temperatures rise, "debris" (partially decomposed organic matter) builds a hydrophobic crust - a caked layer that repels water and dries the rootzone. REV ads carbon (for growth) and replenishes organic matter without adding debris as REV's organic matter is fully decomposed. REV’s microbials immediately go to work consuming/decomposing debris allowing moisture to penetrate the soil. REV quickly creates a hydrophilic (water absorbing) root environment.
Organic REV always encourages deeper root growth and produces healthier, more resilient plants with improved immune response. REV gives your plants the ability to thrive in even the most challenging conditions.
